Startups are tools for countries.
I truly believe that startups can be used to change a country's economy for the better. Just looking at the top 7 companies in the world's biggest economy in 2024, we can see that they all started as startups.
But what is a startup? A startup in my view is a group of people that are trying to create change for the better of mankind. Its fairly simple, there is a problem, man wants to solve it, they group together and create a solution (in a perfect world). In reality its more like, problem identified, proposed solution, gets tested, nobody likes it, propose another solution. The previous cycle would run for "x" amount of times until they solve the problem. Each cycle requires some kind of change in the product or proposed service.
A true startup is like a relentless machine that is driven by some kind of emotion to achieve a positive impact. This is exactly what countries need to enter a new phase of their economic history.
What if they fail? Failure is a given, in fact is a principle in the iteration cycle for startups to succeed. However, failures must be managed correctly. Startups should try to distribute bigger failures into many smaller failures. This allows them to leverage the growth factor of startups, each failure is followed by growth and learning. Meaning every miss step is followed by 1 or n correct steps, and that is due to the nature of growth in startups.
Sometimes large failures are inevitable. Startups that are tackling large problems usually face such failures and it is hard to navigate, this is precisely why we see a lot of the startup scene recommending to tackle niche and small problems. But hey!... go big or go home right?...
Startups are hard, but they create change! Its not supposed to be easy, its supposed to be hard. Building a startup is a thrilling experience, especially if you are a builder! You hypothesize, test, fail, and repeat. You create marketing content, strategy, code, and you sell. It really is an enriching program, its like the ultimate learning experience.
Ill close out by saying this: If you want to achieve something that you have never achieved, you must do that which you have never done.
Thank you!
